Rodarte and Van Gogh

September 14, 2011

From the prints to the mood of the clothes, it was clear Rodarte’s inspiration this season was the work of Van Gogh. The pieces were expressionism translated into clothing with a dreamy, free-form mood and aesthetic. When they weren’t taking their cues from the painter, they presented a number of interesting dresses with sharp, asymmetrical, and unexpected edges that had a militaristic feel combated by their candy-bowl palette.

Were you unsure about the Van Gogh influence?
